    Course Description:
    This course is intended to develop knowledge of adult learning and hone understanding of widely used instructional design models specifically for teaching EFL. The program intends to equip the participants with skills to design and analyze professional learning resources. The students will learn the essentials of designing and developing measurable instructional programs informed by fundamental learning theories to meet a variety of learner needs. The participants will be able to design and develop online learning management systems with the use of ICT. at the end of the course, the students are expected to be able to apply the principles of instructional design following a step-by-step model from needs assessment to evaluation and build a solid understanding of the process of a learning design.

    Course Learning Outcomes:
    • CPMK 1 Students are able to identify the use of ICT applied in the development and practice of learning English and correlate it with educational principles and theories regarding approaches, strategies, methods, techniques, and learning models
    • CPMK 2 Students are able to identify the concepts and theories of planning and managing ICT-based resources in the administration of classes, schools and educational institutions for which they are responsible, and evaluate their activities comprehensively.
    • CPMK 3 Students are able to analyze the need for ICT in the scope of English language learning at every level of an educational unit in Indonesia.
    • CPMK 4 Students are able to apply educational principles and theories regarding approaches, strategies, methods, techniques, and learning models in ICT-based learning media at every level of educational units in Indonesia
    • CPMK 5 Students are able to design digital-based learning tools for online learning creatively, innovatively, and based on the results of needs analysis by applying logical, critical, systematic, and innovative thinking.

  • 5. Engaging Students with Digital Devices

    Students are able to : 
    1. Describe strategies for and examples of integrating computer resources into the curriculum. 
    2. Describe five types of software that might be used in the classroom. 
    3. Discuss the advantages and limitations of using computer resources in learning. 
    4. Discuss the differences between a one-computer classroom, a multiple-computer classroom,
    laptop carts, and computer laboratories in terms of setups and uses. 
    5. Describe an appropriate instructional situation for using computer resources to support student learning. Include the setting, topic, audience, objectives, content of the materials, and rationale for using this media format.

      As per agreement and explanation in the 1st meeting, in the 3rd meeting all of the group have to report the following activity:

      1. Select an education institution / school in secondary level for which you are going to design a module of instruction. 
      2. Locate, and study, the stated philosophy of the organization.
      3. Select a target audience and a subject area within that school.
      4. Apply for recommendation letter from UIB before having formal meeting with school authority
      5. Write proyek proposal for school and assigned teacher to give detail project and timeline
      6. Inform Ms Leil in +822 3284 6467 about the schedule for school visit discussing about the project and Letter of Agreement with school (H-3 max)

      Submit your proposed blueprint for analyzing the students of your partner school. The blueprint should consist of a list of questions asking about Learner Characteristics, demographic data, Access to Technology, learning styles, etc. Remember, in designing the blueprint you should mention your references and attach the link there. Please also attach the online form for the ready questionnaire.

    • Meeting 5: Bring your own device (BYOD) Forum

      The policy of Bring Your Own Device has been implemented in educational institutions way before the pandemic covid 19. While schools in Indonesia, some, may see that handphones shouldn't be allowed to bring to school, other schools insist that students need to be exposed to technology specifically for learning. Let's discuss the implementation of BYOD in your partner school! is there any possibility that this policy can be implemented? let's discuss the pros and con side of the policy.

      Engagement is critical to learning, but it has proved challenging to promote both meaningful engagement and deep learning. Can digital learning technologies help? This chapter provides a broad overview of some promising paths to measure students’ level of engagement during learning with digital technologies and how these technologies can be designed to improve engagement on the onset of learning or when disengagement sets in. It discusses why engagement matters for learning, how to measure engagement with digital learning technologies, and presents different types of approaches in using data and technology to improve students’ engagement and learning.
