    This course aims to equip students with knowledge of English grammar. Learning focuses on recognizing and analyzing grammatical structures in sentences and practicing the use of these constructions in the correct sentences.

  • 1st Meeting- Phrase and Concord (Subject and verb agreement)

    I hope you are very healthy and happy.

    As we are approaching our 
    first meeting in English advance grammar class,  I am excited to get to know you in class.  Please prepare one fun fact about you to share in class. After getting to know each other, we will learn about grammatical in English. In the first meeting, we are going to learn about phrases (noun phrase and adjective phrase) and concord (subject-verb agreement).

  • 2nd Meeting- Tenses

    Good Morning... How are you today?

    I hope you are very healthy and happy.

    well... today is the second meeting in English advance grammar class. In this meeting, we will learn about Tenses. We will discuss about the simple tense and the progressive tense. Simple tense is category of verb tense, it refers to three tenses in English, they are the simple present, the simple past and the simple future tense. While, the progressive tenses give the idea that an action is in progress during a particular time. The tenses say that an action begins before, is in progress during, and continues after another time or action.

  • 3rd Meeting- Tense

    How are you? I hope you are healthy and happy.

    Today, we still continue learn about tenses. Today, we will discuss about the perfect tense and the perfect progressive tense. The perfect tense all give the idea that one thing happens before another time or event. While, the perfect progressive tenses give the idea that one event is in progress immediately before, up to, until bother time or event. The tenses are used to express the duration of the first event.

  • 4th Meeting- Passive Voice

    How are you? I hope you are healthy and happy.

    today, we are going discuss about passive voice. Passive voice is used when the focus is on the action. It is not important or not known, however, who or what is performing the action. A passive voice construction is a grammatical voice construction that is found in many languages. In a clause with passive voice, the grammatical subject expresses the theme or patient of the main verb that is, the person or thing that undergoes the action or has its state changed.

  • 5th Meeting- Passive Voice

    Today, we still learn about passive voice. We will give you an article and you have to analyse the passive voice form in every sentence. We will decide you into some groups, and you have to discuss with your group. If you have any difficulties when learning those materials, you can contact me and ask me.

  • 6th Meeting- Complex and compound sentence

    Assalamu’alaikum….

    How are you? I hope you are healthy and happy.

    Today, we learn about compound and complex sentence. Any unit of language that can stand alone and make sense is referred to as a sentence. A sentence can either be minor or major. A minor sentence lacks some grammatical features, such as a subject or a verb, while a major sentence comprises most grammatical features, including a subject and predicate (part of a sentence with a verb and gives more information about a subject). A compound comprises two or more independent clauses joined together by a coordinating conjunction. On the other hand, a complex sentence comprises one main/independent clause and one or more subordinate/dependent clauses linked together by a subordinating conjunction.

  • 11 Meeting - Gerund and Infinitive

    How are you? I hope you are healthy and happy.

    Today, we are going to learn about gerund and infinitives . Gerund is verb -ing­ that the function as noun. There are three function of gerund, they are gerund as subject, gerund as object and gerund as complement. In this meeting, we will learn about the form of gerund, its meaning, and its function. While, an infinitive is a verb form that acts as other parts of speech in a sentence. It is formed with to + base form of the verb.
