  Hy fellow students Welcome to Extensive Listening course.

  Here we are in this new term and a new course.

  How are you guys doing by the way?In this very first meeting we will introduce each other, and we will introduce you with the course as well, and later on with the remaining time we will have listening practice (only if possible).

  This course will be held online as part of collaborative teaching of Majapahit Islamic University and Musamus University.

  The extensive listening is listening for pleasure. The aim of this subject is for us to be able to comprehend the whole audio/video recording. The listening material is limitless and is in our choice. Detail information within the listening material is not the main object like in other listening courses

  Good to see you here today in this course. I hope we are all in great condition so that we can enjoy the course. 

  In the last meeting we have learned about the course contract and its component like the description and the objectives of the course, the material, and the schedule of the course. We also tried the the extensive listening activity using one recording.

  Today we will practice listening using the extensive listening method in which you will choose the recording that you want to listen. There are 5 types of the recording that are provided for you in each meeting, those recording are (1) movie clip, (2) documentary video, (3) talk, (4) speech, and (5) song.

  Before we start the listening practice, the difference between movie and documentary video and the difference between speech and talk will be explained.
