According to Maria Montessori, early childhood education is very important to be developed from the age of 0-6 years. Children have the power within themselves to develop on their own, have a natural desire to learn and work, along with a strong desire to have fun. Children prefer to do activities rather than just being entertained or pampered. Children will always look for something new to do that is something that has a more difficult and challenging level. Besides, children too have a desire to be independent. Children have a strong motive or drive towards the formation of their own soul (Self Construction) so that they will spontaneously try to shape themselves through understanding their environment.
The method by Montessori is based on self-education, paying attention to sensitive periods, and free education with supervision. The Montessori class was one of the first to emphasize a warm and comfortable environment in children's freedom-based learning. Montessori learning is very suitable for children learning through hands-on activities, in the preschool year is the time when the child's brain development still good and parents become friends in their learning.
The goals of children's education according to Maria Montessori are to assist parents in implementing effective teaching patterns for their children; assisting students in developing their intellectual, psychomotor and effective levels; make children are required to be able to develop according to the period of development when they begin to be sensitive to their tasks; teach children how to learn effectively and optimally through games; develop skills that emphasize the importance of children working freely and under limited supervision; children are taught to be able to concentrate and be creative, seventh, the teacher is only an observer and guide, because children are accustomed to choosing according to their own wishes.
